Service Description: The Portuguese Offshore Minerals Map, was produced at a scale of 1:5 000 000, with the fundamental objective of demonstrating the potential of the Portuguese offshore for mineral resources. For the construction of the map, the Exclusive Economic Zone of Portugal and the Proposal for the Extension of the Continental Shelf were considered, which, if approved, will join the EEZ’s of the Azores, Madeira, and mainland Portugal, increasing the area of Portuguese jurisdiction and sovereignty to around 4 000 000 Km2.
